The Department of Commerce at Motilal Nehru College (Evening), under University of Delhi, successfully organized an international conference titled “Digital Futures: Reshaping Commerce, Finance and Management for Sustainable Global Development” on April 04, 2026.

Held in hybrid mode, the conference brought together academicians, researchers, industry experts, and students from across India and abroad. It served as a vibrant platform for discussions on digital transformation, financial innovation, and sustainable business practices.

Focus on Digital Transformation and Sustainability

The conference explored how emerging technologies are reshaping global commerce and management. Key areas included artificial intelligence, fintech, blockchain, big data, and digital platforms.

Participants discussed how these technologies contribute to sustainable development by supporting economic growth, environmental protection, and social inclusion. The sessions also examined new business models that combine digital innovation with sustainability.

Experts highlighted both opportunities and challenges associated with digital transformation. They emphasized the need for ethical practices, international collaboration, and responsible use of technology.

Inaugural Session with Eminent Guests

The event began with a traditional inaugural ceremony, including Saraswati Vandana, lamp lighting, and the University Kulgeet.

Dr. Maya Rani delivered the welcome address, while Dr. Neelu Grover presented the concept note. Prof. Sandeep Garg, Principal and Patron, highlighted the importance of digital transformation in building future-ready businesses.

The session was graced by distinguished dignitaries, including Prof. Vijay Kumar Shrotriya (Chief Guest), Prof. Amit Kumar Singh (Guest of Honour), and Prof. R. P. Tulsian (Distinguished Guest).

Insightful Keynote Addresses

The conference featured impactful keynote speeches from international experts. Dr. Puneet Vatsa spoke about digital ecosystems and the growing interaction between humans and artificial intelligence.

Prof. (Dr.) Pastor R. Arguelles Jr. emphasized the importance of research-driven decision-making and global academic collaboration.

Entrepreneur Dhruv Mathur shared practical insights from his professional journey. He stressed the importance of innovation, adaptability, and data-driven strategies in today’s business world.

Prof. Rajnish Kler highlighted the increasing role of AI tools in academic research, encouraging scholars to adopt advanced technologies.

Pre-Conference Workshop on AI Tools

A pre-conference workshop titled “Advancing Research with AI Tools” was conducted by Prof. Rajnish Kler. The workshop provided hands-on experience in using AI for literature review, data analysis, and academic writing.

Dr. Neelu Grover presented the conference report, and Dr. Bhawna Rajput delivered the vote of thanks. The event ended with the National Anthem.
