The Value Addition Course Committee of Delhi University, in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Forum, organized a grand commemorative event on Kargil Vijay Diwas at the University’s Convention Hall. The theme of the program was “One India, Great India – Unified Bharat”, highlighting national unity, historical memory, and India’s evolving defense posture.

Dr. Jitendra Singh: “India Now Makes Enemies Pay for Disturbing Peace”

Chief Guest Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, asserted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has transformed from being reactive to proactive in matters of national security. Referring to ‘Operation Sindoor’, he said the operation has reshaped India’s global image on both military and diplomatic fronts.

“Unified Bharat is not just a slogan—it is embedded in India’s civilizational consciousness,” Dr. Singh emphasized.

He also questioned why the Indian National Congress delayed demanding full independence until the 1931 Lahore Session, crediting Bhagat Singh’s martyrdom for awakening the national conscience. Dr. Singh further criticized the unilateral ceasefire decision of 1947 by then PM Nehru, stating that had it not occurred, PoK would be part of India today. He accused Congress of shaping a false narrative against Veer Savarkar, which the nation failed to adequately counter.

🔷 DU Vice Chancellor Pays Tribute to Kargil Heroes

Presiding over the event, Delhi University Vice Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Singh emphasized the significance of remembering Kargil Vijay Diwas as a tribute to the bravery, sacrifice, and valor of the Indian armed forces. He honored heroes like Captain Vikram Batra and Major Rajesh Singh, and also highlighted the role of Tashi Namgyal, a shepherd who first alerted Indian forces to Pakistani infiltration.
