The five-day national seminar “Bharat Manthan 2026” concluded at Ramjas College, University of Delhi, with a strong emphasis on Swadeshi, civic responsibility, and self-reliance. The seminar, organized from April 6 to April 11, brought together scholars, academicians, and students from across India to deliberate on the theme “Implementation of Panch Parivartan in the Context of Human Welfare: Challenges and Solutions.” The event was jointly organized by Indraprastha Adhyayan Kendra, Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB), University of Delhi, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Central University of Haryana, and Central University of Himachal Pradesh. The valedictory session at Ramjas College began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony and Saraswati Vandana. The session was graced by key dignitaries including J. Nandakumar, National Convener of Pragya Pravah, as the chief speaker. Prof. Tankeshwar, Vice-Chancellor of Central University of Haryana, chaired the session, while Prof. Balram Pani, Dean of Colleges, University of Delhi, attended as the guest of honour. Other notable attendees included Prof. Geeta Bhatt, Director of NCWEB, and Vinod Sharma ‘Vivek’, Head of Indraprastha Adhyayan Kendra. Welcoming the guests, Vinod Sharma ‘Vivek’ expressed gratitude to all participating institutions and contributors. Prof. Rakesh Kumar Pandey, Co-Head of the Kendra, elaborated on the organization’s vision and its role in promoting intellectual engagement and national consciousness. Delivering the keynote address, J. Nandakumar highlighted the importance of adopting Swadeshi practices to strengthen the Indian economy. He stated that if India aims to challenge “Dollarism,” citizens must actively support the Indian rupee through indigenous practices. Emphasizing civic duty, he remarked that society is increasingly focused on rights while neglecting responsibilities. He urged individuals, especially the younger generation, to understand the concept of ‘self’ and align their actions with national priorities. Drawing inspiration from Swami Vivekananda’s philosophy, he stressed that awareness of one’s inner self is essential for fulfilling civic duties. He also underlined the relevance of Panch Parivartan for “Gen Z,” calling for collective efforts to implement these principles in everyday life. Chairing the session, Prof. Tankeshwar emphasized that Panch Parivartan holds global relevance in promoting human welfare and self-reliance. He explained that real change begins at the individual level and requires a deep understanding of these principles. According to him, only through personal transformation can a nation achieve sustainable growth and development. Prof. Balram Pani drew a parallel between the five elements of nature and Panch Parivartan. He noted that just as the human body requires balance among the five elements, a nation also needs these five transformative principles to remain stable, healthy, and progressive. Summarizing the five-day seminar, Prof. Geeta Bhatt expressed appreciation for the collaborative efforts of all institutions and participants. She thanked organizers, speakers, and attendees for their active contribution to the success of the event. The seminar witnessed participation from a wide academic spectrum. Several prominent personalities, including Prof. Ashok Kumar Nagawat (Vice-Chancellor, Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University), Prof. R.N. Dubey (Vice-Chancellor, Global University, Itanagar), Prof. Ajay Kumar Arora (Principal, Ramjas College), and social worker Rajkumar Bhatia, were present during the session.
