A two-day international conference titled “International Conference on Emerging Trends in Artificial Intelligence and Computational Sciences (ICET-AICS 2026)” commenced at Ramanujan College, under University of Delhi. The inaugural session was held at the Ghalib Auditorium, marking the beginning of a major academic event focused on cutting-edge developments in artificial intelligence and computational sciences.

The conference is being organized by the Department of Computer Science of Ramanujan College in collaboration with Shaheed Rajguru College of Applied Sciences for Women (Note: If needed replace with correct institution name; here based on typical DU context).

Grand Inaugural Session

The event began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony and the university’s Kulgeet, setting a formal and academic tone. Dr. Kamlesh Raghuvanshi, the conference convenor, delivered the welcome address and highlighted the relevance of artificial intelligence in today’s rapidly evolving digital world.

He emphasized that the conference aims to provide a platform for researchers, academicians, and industry experts to exchange ideas and explore innovative solutions.

Distinguished Guests and Key Speakers

The inaugural session was graced by several eminent personalities. Chief Guest Mukesh Mohania shared valuable insights on the future of artificial intelligence. He stressed the need for decentralizing AI technologies and expanding AI-related courses in universities to benefit a wider group of students.

Keynote speaker Vivek Gupta highlighted real-world applications of AI. Drawing from his industry experience, he explained how AI-based agents are transforming daily life and improving workplace efficiency.

Prof. Rajinder Kumar Pandey, Principal of Ramanujan College, emphasized the importance of AI-driven research in achieving meaningful societal outcomes. He stated that technology must be aligned with human welfare and social progress.

Prof. Neelam Goyal, Principal of Shaheed Rajguru College of Applied Sciences for Women, highlighted the value of academic collaboration. She noted that joint initiatives like this conference provide enriching opportunities for participants.

Focus on Research and Innovation

The conference aims to explore emerging trends in artificial intelligence, computational sciences, and related fields. It covers a wide range of topics, including machine learning, data science, natural language processing, and computer vision.

Participants from across India and abroad are contributing to discussions on technological innovation and its impact on society.

Hybrid Research Presentation Sessions

Following the inaugural session, technical sessions were conducted in hybrid mode. A total of 81 research papers were presented, including 26 offline and 55 online presentations.

These sessions were divided into thematic tracks, allowing participants to present their work and receive feedback from experts. The discussions were interactive and focused on practical applications of AI technologies.

International Expert Lecture

A key highlight of the first day was an online expert lecture by Pham Thi Thanh Thuy from the People’s Security Academy, Vietnam.

She presented her research on “Text-Based Person Search: Integration of Computer Vision and Natural Language Processing.” Her work demonstrated how advanced AI systems can identify individuals in surveillance footage based on textual descriptions provided by witnesses.

She also addressed challenges such as limited datasets, language diversity, and technical barriers in non-English environments. Her lecture provided valuable global perspectives on AI research.

Encouraging Global Academic Collaboration

The conference reflects the growing importance of international collaboration in advancing scientific research. By bringing together experts from academia and industry, it aims to promote knowledge sharing and innovation.

Dr. Manish Kumar Singh, co-convenor, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all speakers, organizers, and participants for their contributions.
