Indraprastha College for Women, University of Delhi, hosted its annual award ceremony Samanvay 2026 on April 28, bringing together students, faculty members, parents, and distinguished guests in a vibrant celebration of talent and achievement.

The prestigious event was graced by the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, who lauded the institution’s long-standing legacy and its contribution to shaping future leaders. As the college continues to mark its centenary journey, the event reflected its commitment to academic excellence and holistic development.

In his keynote address, Sandhu emphasized the growing importance of women’s education and empowerment. Referring to the vision of Narendra Modi, he highlighted how education plays a vital role in enabling women to take leadership roles in society. He encouraged students to remain adaptable in an evolving global environment while staying rooted in strong ethical values.

He further spoke about the rising influence of artificial intelligence and its transformative impact on future career opportunities. According to him, students must develop critical thinking skills and adopt a solution-oriented approach to navigate the challenges of a rapidly changing world.

The ceremony was also attended by Balaram Pani, Dean of Colleges, University of Delhi, who acknowledged the institution’s contribution to academic innovation and excellence. The event was presided over by Prof. Poonam Kumria, Principal of the college.

In her address, Prof. Kumria highlighted the college’s strong academic framework and its proactive approach toward implementing reforms under the National Education Policy (NEP). She emphasized that IPCW has consistently aligned itself with evolving educational standards through interdisciplinary learning, collaborations, and diverse academic engagements.

She also underlined the importance of sustainability and inclusivity on campus. The college has taken several initiatives to promote environmental responsibility and student well-being. Special focus has been given to mental health awareness programmes and financial assistance schemes to ensure access to education for all sections of society.

One of the major highlights of Samanvay 2026 was the inauguration of the college’s new official website. The upgraded digital platform aims to improve accessibility and streamline academic as well as administrative processes for students and faculty members.

The award ceremony recognised the achievements of 73 students, including those from the enabling unit. These students were honoured for their outstanding performance in academics as well as co-curricular activities, reflecting the institution’s emphasis on overall development.

The event concluded on a celebratory note with vibrant cultural performances by students. The performances showcased creativity, diversity, and the rich cultural spirit of the college community.

Samanvay 2026 not only celebrated individual achievements but also reinforced the institution’s commitment to nurturing responsible citizens and future leaders. With a strong foundation built over decades, IPCW continues to play a crucial role in shaping young minds and contributing to nation-building through education.
