Shyama Prasad Mukherji College for Women, University of Delhi, organized an Entrepreneurship Orientation Programme under the aegis of the Entrepreneurial Cell, UDGAM Incubation Center, on the theme “Why Startups and Entrepreneurship Matter: Beginning Your Entrepreneurial Journey.” The programme began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and the singing of Vande Mataram. Principal Encourages Students to Explore Entrepreneurship Welcoming the participants, Prof. (Dr.) Neelam Goel, Principal of the college, encouraged students to explore entrepreneurship with confidence and creativity. The event was attended by students and faculty members and focused on creating awareness about entrepreneurship and startup opportunities among young learners. Saket Mishra Highlights Changing Employment Landscape The programme featured an interactive session with Shri Saket Mishra, Honourable Member of the Legislative Council (MLC), Uttar Pradesh. Addressing the students, Shri Mishra spoke about the changing employment landscape and the increasing role of startups in creating opportunities for young people. He said that the emergence of local entrepreneurs has intensified competition and opened new avenues for startups. According to him, these developments are enabling young people to move from being job seekers to becoming job creators. Five-Stage Mantra for Entrepreneurship During his address, Shri Mishra shared a five-stage approach to successful entrepreneurship. Planning He emphasized the importance of planning as the first step in building a successful enterprise. Execution Shri Mishra said that ideas must be supported by effective execution to achieve desired results. Feedback He highlighted the role of feedback in helping entrepreneurs assess performance and improve their business strategies. Building a Strong Team According to him, creating a competent and motivated team is essential for long-term success. Adaptability and Course Correction He also stressed the need for continuous course correction and adaptability in response to changing market conditions and business challenges. Focus on Women Entrepreneurship Shri Mishra emphasized the importance of women entrepreneurship in India’s economic development. He noted that greater participation of women in entrepreneurial activities can contribute significantly to economic growth and innovation. The discussion highlighted the growing opportunities available to women entrepreneurs across various sectors. UDGAM Incubation Center Introduced During the programme, Dr. Manish Kumar Singh, Convenor and Nodal Officer of the UDGAM Incubation Center, introduced the Centre and outlined its activities. He also delivered the concluding remarks and proposed the vote of thanks. Programme Concludes with National Anthem The event was anchored by students Satakshi and Ananya. The Entrepreneurship Orientation Programme concluded with the National Anthem. The programme brought together students, faculty members and invited guests for discussions on entrepreneurship, startups and innovation, with a focus on encouraging entrepreneurial awareness among students at Shyama Prasad Mukherji College for Women, University of Delhi.
