Shyama Prasad Mukherji College for Women hosted the national seminar “Bharat Manthan Parv, Yugabd 5128”, bringing together scholars, academicians, and students to deliberate on the themes of civic duty (Nagrik Kartavya) and indigenous self-reliance (Swadeshi Atmanirbharta). The event was organized in collaboration with Indraprasth Adhyayan Kendra and several reputed institutions, including NCWEB, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Central University of Haryana, and Central University of Himachal Pradesh.

The seminar emerged as a dynamic intellectual platform aimed at exploring India’s path toward holistic national development. The programme commenced with parallel technical sessions conducted across multiple venues, where a total of 42 participants presented their research papers. These sessions fostered meaningful academic discussions and encouraged participants to engage with contemporary issues through research-driven insights.

Following the technical sessions, a common session was held that began with traditional Deep Prajwalan, a floral tribute to Bharat Mata, and a soulful rendition of Vande Mataram. The ceremonial elements created a deeply reflective and patriotic atmosphere, setting the tone for the discussions that followed.

Dr. Manish Kumar Singh introduced the vision and activities of Indraprasth Adhyayan Kendra, highlighting its role in promoting research rooted in Indian knowledge systems. He emphasized the importance of reconnecting with indigenous intellectual traditions while addressing modern societal challenges.

Adding depth to the conceptual framework of the seminar, Shri Vinod Sharma Vivek elaborated on the significance of Bharat Manthan Parv as a platform for introspection and dialogue. He underlined that such initiatives are essential for nurturing a sense of responsibility and awareness among citizens, particularly the youth.

The session was further enriched by the presidential address of Prof. Neelam Goyal, Principal of SPM College. In her address, she highlighted the importance of integrating civic values with education. She stressed that institutions of higher learning play a crucial role in shaping responsible citizens who contribute actively to nation-building.

A cultural highlight of the event was a heartfelt solo performance by Akanksha Thaipyal, who presented a song themed on civic duty and self-reliance. The performance resonated with the audience and reinforced the core message of the seminar.

The keynote address was delivered by Shri Narendra Thakur, Akhil Bharatiya Sah-Prachar Pramukh of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. His address formed the intellectual core of the seminar, offering deep insights into the concept of Swadeshi. He emphasized that Swadeshi is not limited to economic self-reliance but represents a broader civilizational consciousness rooted in Indian values.

Shri Thakur further linked the idea of Atmanirbharta with Nagrik Kartavya, stating that a nation can truly become self-reliant only when its citizens fulfill their duties with sincerity and commitment. His message strongly resonated with the audience, particularly the youth, encouraging them to harmonize traditional wisdom with modern innovation in their pursuit of nation-building.

The seminar concluded with a formal Vote of Thanks delivered by Co-Convenor Dr. Urmil Vats, who expressed gratitude to all collaborating institutions, speakers, and participants for their contributions. Special acknowledgment was extended to Canara Bank for its support.

The event was seamlessly anchored by Dr. Amna Mirza, ensuring smooth coordination throughout the programme. The seminar concluded with the chanting of the Kalyan Mantra, leaving participants inspired and motivated to contribute towards a more responsible and self-reliant nation.

Bharat Manthan Parv 2026 successfully created a platform for intellectual exchange and reflection on key national issues. By bringing together diverse voices from academia and beyond, the seminar reinforced the importance of civic responsibility and indigenous thought in shaping India’s future.
